YOU GET A PRESENT! YOU GET A PRESENT! EVERY! BODY! GETS! A PRESEEENT!

For those of us who grew up with The Oprah Winfrey Show, there is no time more exciting than the ‘Oprah’s Favorite Things’ segment in the countdown to Christmas. In a pandemic year, Oprah has opted to select some clothes that cater to comfort and style. Thank you, Oprah, for thinking of me during both these trying and capitalistic times. Each of the items curated supports Black-owned businesses. Look below for a list compiled of the top 10 fashion finds on the list of Oprah’s favorite things.

Cozy Earth Pullover Crews and Joggers

Originally $110 each, and jogger pants for $129 each, now 20 percent off with code "OPRAH" at cozyearth.com

Oprah heard that the people needed a new WFH go-to, and she said “say less.” This is a pretty standard matching set that can take you to the supermarket, to the desk in the corner of your living room while at work, to your walk around the neighborhood, or honestly to all three and then into bed right after.

So Good Fluffy Slippers

$48 per pair at twelveam.co

When you spend day-in and day-out indoors, you find that the energy you expend leaving your living quarters to get your mail could be put to much better use. These slippers come in a variety of colors and require no effort whatsoever. As a bonus, the little balls of fur double as pets if you do not have an animal companion of your own.

Foldover Warm Satin-Lined Caps With Pom

Originally $46 each, now 20 percent off with code "OPRAH" at graceeleyae.com

These classic, preppy braided beanies are just what you need to keep you warm on a cold winter’s night. The pom on the crown of your head will have you living the cheerleader fantasy of your dreams that you didn’t even know you had.

Cashmere Hoodies

$264 each at alpinecashmere.com

Treat yo’self. It has been a LONG year. Typically, I’m not one to drop this much coin on a hoodie, but if it made it to Oprah’s list, it must be worth the money. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a rich woman who bathes in cashmere, this is the sweatshirt for you. The cashmere will tell everyone that you have money, while the hoodie aspect will tell people that it’s casual enough of a piece to not be that big of a deal for you.

Core Leggings

$45 each at iconileggings.com

This definitely hits a much more reasonable price point, especially when compared to the likes of Lululemon. Another score for the daywear that can take you just about anywhere, but would also serve you in a workout capacity, if anybody is managing to keep up with that.

Medium Telfar Shopping Bags

$202 each at shop.telfar.net

Oprah’s taste jumped all the way OUT for this selection. I commend her for picking such a gorgeous, trendy, up-and-coming purse that regularly sells out and is near impossible to get. This rather affordable bag, dubbed as the “Bushwick Birkin,” comes from a business that started in 2014 and has been seen in the arms of Solange Knowles, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, A$AP Ferg, Jeremy O. Harris, Azealia Banks and the rather stylish Congress Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Truthfully speaking, this is actually an incredible price point for a designer bag as well given that bags can cost as much as a year’s worth of community college tuition.

Lamu Mules

Originally $95 per pair, now 20 percent off with code "OPRAH" at ubuntu.life

Contrary to the name, it is not, in fact, made from the skin of a llama/emu hybrid. This is a very sensible, open-heel shoe with suede covering. The suede comes in a variety of colors and the shoe itself has a moccasin-style look to it similar to a pair of TOMS shoes.

Expedition Parkas

Originally from $300 each, now 20 percent off with code "OPRAH" at landsend.com

This is another garment that falls on the more expensive end of the spectrum, but a winter coat is something that you cannot cheapen out on. You never know when you’re going to be trudging up the icy glaciers of the Antarctic trying to keep the wind from whipping your delicately moisturized face … a feeling that I experience every time I walk from my front door to my car. Invest in a coat that will endure multiple winters and multiple trips to the Arctic tundra.

Kinetic Conquest Boots

Originally $165 per pair, now 20 percent off with code "OPRAH" at sorel.com

These boots feel a lot like SKECHERS for adults. They add a lot more flavor to an outfit than a rather basic Timberland, Ugg or L.L. Bean boot. These are a necessary purchase because if it snows even one time, there is absolutely no worse feeling in the world than having snow in your shoe — your foot gets cold, your socks get wet, it’s an all-around miserable time. You’re better off just buying the boots.

Set of Three Masks

$35 for a set of three masks at toryburch.com

I wear my mask religiously around my wrist like it is a fashion accessory (prior to when I actually need to wear it on my face), and yet somehow I have managed to lose a number of reusable masks. This is a great deal on a set of designer masks that are pretty and bright enough to convince everyone that you’re smiling underneath your mask at all times.
