Issa Rae’s Wedding in Vera Wang

Issa Rae pleasantly surprised her fans on Instagram on Monday, July 26 by announcing that she is officially married. She said “I do” to Louis Diame in the South of France in a small yet stylish wedding.

The actress, writer, and producer looked beautiful in a custom strapless Vera Wang ball-gown style wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline. The gown was ivory in color and featured Chantilly lace, along with intricate crystal beading and a full poofy, princess-style bottom. She completed the look with shiny, open-toe heels and a light, airy veil.

For her reception, Rae changed into another dress by Vera Wang. Her white reception dress seemed to have a looser fit than her first dress. While Rae’s reception dress was also a ball-gown style, this look featured very thin straps and a deep V-neckline. Although the bottom of this dress was not as full as her first look, the A-line style gown had an elegant appearance with plenty of tulle at the bottom.

Louis Diame looked dashing as well in a red suit jacket by Dolce & Gabbana with matching pants. Underneath the bold red jacket, he wore a more classic white button-down top with a black bowtie. Rae’s bridesmaids all wore a simple yet chic lilac dress with thin straps and a V-neckline.

While the notoriously private Rae downplayed how big of a deal her wedding was on Instagram by playing it off as a fun photoshoot, it was impossible not to notice the radiance in her smile and her eyes in the wedding photos she posted. We wish Rae and Diame a lifetime of happiness following their intimate yet fashionable wedding.
