Chanel - Online Balade
The French Maison just released The Cruise collection 2020/2021 ‘Balade en méditerranée’, A Mediterranean Jaunt, inspired in Caprese sunsets.
The official presentation was unveiled on June the 8th at noon, Paris time; photographed by Karim Sadli, in a photo studio in the city.
The brand has always shown and adhered to the image of a classy and elegant woman, peace is the main character trait of this season's collection. The contents feel, through the studio set imagery, to Evoque a summer afternoon, on a terrace just off the beach on the Italian riviera. A traveling show that was originally set for Capri, but due to the actual world situation was only able to be displayed virtually.
We can see different models, like Karly Lyce, relaxing and carelessly playing around by themselves with the fabrics and the designs predominant of the collection. Easy clothes, for a sophisticated and mild summer. The pinks, blues, and yellows of the sky evoke a quiet environment.
On the proposal, we can find long skirts, shorts, ponchos, Capri cut jeans, wide-legged pants, long and short coats, swimsuits to wear under cardigan jackets, black chiffon blouses, midriff tops, high waisted slouchy denim, little and long lame dresses as well as wrap dresses and of course the classic Chanel suit on cotton tweed in pink and purple, a very summery proposal. Many of these were made with the fabrics they had in stock.
"Few easy-to-wear, multipurpose items of clothing. Clothes that can easily transform” said Virginie Viard, artistic director.
Accessories like the woven wicker beach purse, belly chains, sandals with a greek inspiration, a double CC logo slides, and leather ballet flats.
This first online presentation describes perfectly how the world is changing and Chanel’s too. The French Maison is known for perfection, innovation, creativity; every runway is completely different than the other, the music, coordination of the models, every scenario is magnificent, wonderful, makes your mind travel to another dimension.
Let's remember the Chanel supermarket with all the products with the house logo, the woods, the Paris rooftops, the beach with sand and waves, the winter village, the Cruise that made feel on the ocean, the one that took place in the middle of El Paseo del Prado in La Havana, Cuba. A fashion house that every single collection plays with the imagination and turns an idea into reality.
However, this digital campaign is completely opposite as the ones we were used to. The collection and the video tell a story of quiet evolution, but continuity, something similar like we are facing right now, a progressive change in our lifestyle. The yearning to come back to those places that we love and enjoy in our vacations.
