Sergio Hudson knows who he is!
September 2021 was the first season back in person for the city of New York’s globally recognized Fashion Week, and with Spring Studio’s doors back open, one of fashion’s most payed attention to designers Sergio Hudson presented his SS22 collection and runway show. The show consistently presented monochromatic looks of rose red Florida orange pieces as well as canary yellows and midnight blacks! Magical is the most natural word that comes to mind. While Hudson showed off a plethora of bold hues, there was also a patterned white collection that gave insight into a jigsaw like pattern that transitioned between the main presention of solid colors.
Some models sported bold robust statement belts to separate their evenings look, which added more structure to their outfits. While others sported shoulder coats. My favorite parts of the show were the last looks, which were all covered in sparkles, which are trending right now. These styles were the perfect way to end the show, as these were the most eye-catching and trendy looks from the presentation. My favorite look from Hudson’s collection was an all-purple one-shoulder dress with a provocative cutout at the stomach area and a sexy slit. This look was covered in sparkles and was a head-turner. My only issue with this show was that I felt like some of these pieces would have been better for Fall/Winter because of the jackets and fur, which did not seem to fit the Spring/Summer season. However, it was an excellent show overall, and the music and setting were chic without being too over-the-top.
